An animated series for kids

Hokos Pokos — coming soon

Five young Kaskinas. One stolen world.
The only way to win back the light is to go outside and play like everything depends on it — because it does.

The Story

Someone is stealing the youth out of the world.

Kaskinas are mystical, multi-coloured children who live in a world built for childhood — floating islands, rainbow stars, diamond fruit, and fish that swim through the clouds.

That world runs on one kind of fuel: the energy of kids having fun. Adventure keeps the land alive. Without it, everything begins to grey out and decay.

So when Nimrod — a once-great elder, corrupted in the Dark Outlands — discovers he can drain the youth out of children and keep it for himself, the colour starts draining from the world too.

The wise elder Slocum manages to hide five kids before Nimrod reaches them. Those five are now the only ones left with their spark intact — and the only ones who can win the rest of it back.

Nimrod is proud, and he never turns down a challenge. So that's how you beat him: out-ski him. Out-climb him. Out-paddle him. Every contest they win returns a piece of the world's youth to the children it was taken from.

The Cast

Meet the Kaskinas

Each of them is named for a real person who lived the way a Kaskina lives — an adventurer, a skier, a cyclist, a mountain porter with a famously calm gaze.

Tukten, the leader of the Kaskinas

Tukten

The Leader · Moral compass

Optimistic even when things look bad, and cool-headed when everyone else is not. He plans, he strategises, and he is fiercely protective of Jake. He likes the rules — but he'll break one if the moment calls for it.

Named for the Nepalese porter in Peter Matthiessen's The Snow Leopard, described as having a gaze of calm, open, non-judgemental acceptance.

Plake, the daredevil of the Kaskinas

Plake

The Daredevil · Prankster

The most adventurous of the group and easily the most unfocused. Crazy ideas, very little sense of danger, and a deep commitment to fun over absolutely everything else. Plake is the one who reminds Tukten to lighten up.

Named for big-mountain ski icon Glen Plake, who pushed the limits so everyone after him could too.

Jake, the youngest Kaskina

Jake

The Heart · Youngest

Shy, gentle and a little scared of challenges — and the emotional centre of the whole group. Jake is the most in tune with nature of any of them. The others are teaching him to be brave, and he is teaching them something back.

Slocum sees himself in Jake, and hopes he will one day be High Elder of the land.

Slocum, the elder of the Kaskinas

Slocum

The Elder · 900 years old

The most respected figure in the land, chosen as an elder for his patience and understanding. He can see ahead, speak to every living thing including the trees, and reach the kids telepathically when they need him. He guides. He does not rescue.

Named for Harry Slocum, a national-team cycling alternate whose quiet humility hid the heart of a warrior.

Nimrod, the villain of Hoko Pokos

Nimrod

The Villain · Former elder

Once the greatest sports hero in the land — so good that the world made him an elder alongside Slocum. But becoming an elder costs you your youth, and Nimrod could not accept it. He went into the Outlands and came back able to take youth from everyone else.

He and Slocum were once good friends. He still respects the rules of a contest, because he is, above everything, a competitor.

Chioji & Westin

The Twins · Royal Tribe

Royal-blood Kaskinas are always born twins, and these two have never been outside their own tribe before. They're the brains — history, science, tactics — and they speak Heban, the language that lets them talk to animals. Chioji is gentle; Westin is impatient. They finish each other's sentences.

Chioji is named for Wendy Chioji — adventurer, blogger, and someone who kicked cancer while living life all the way to the edges.

The Kaskina World

Four lands. Four tribes.

The world is split into four regions, and every Kaskina belongs to one of them. You can tell which, just by looking.

Northern Land

The Winter Tribe

Spotted by their thick buffalo-hair hats. A small, very proud community living high in the snowy mountains. Their favourite sport is Buffalo Bounding — racing each other on the backs of snow buffalo — and they seal their friendships stargazing on the peaks.

Western Land

The Royal Tribe

Rich silks and expensive garments. Every Kaskina of royal blood is born a twin, and their whole culture is built on kinship — they do everything in pairs. They make the finest attire in the land, and Kaskinas travel from everywhere to get it.

Southern Land

The Daring Tribe

Gravity-defying hair and no fear whatsoever. They jump off cliff tops, ride sky-island waterfalls, and brave the billowing cloud-lands to fish for enormous Sky Fish — the most delicious delicacy in all the land.

Eastern Land

The Pure Tribe

Each one is identified by a symbol on their chest, and every symbol means something different — it's tied to who that Kaskina actually is. A shy tribe who keep to themselves by the sea, guarding the starlight water that keeps them young and pure.

…and the Dark Outlands

Not a tribe. A warning. Mysterious and devilish creatures dwell inside, and no Kaskina would ever set foot there willingly. The tales all say the same thing: the darkness in there can get into you.

Episode guide

  1. The Challenge of Kaskina. Two suns, a peaceful day, and a hooded stranger walking into town as the birds fall out of the sky behind him. Nimrod drains the colour from every child in the land. Slocum hides five of them, and their mission begins.
  2. The Cliffs of Babalonna. The team follows the path of the great wind to the cliffs and meets Kazama, who will only help if they can beat him at extreme snowboard racing. They lose — to overconfidence and to not yet being a team.
  3. The Return to the Mighty Cliffs. They sort out their differences, train properly, and go back. This time an overconfident Kazama loses, and points them toward the Waters of Gabal. The village near Babalonna gets its youth back.

    What this preview actually does

We'd rather show you the idea honestly than fake it. In this concept build:

    • Your photo never leaves your device. It's read by your own browser, drawn onto a canvas, and discarded when you close the tab. There is no upload, no server, no account and no storage.
    • The Kaskina portrait is a stylisation, not AI. It's a colour-and-posterise treatment applied in your browser, standing in for the illustrated character our artists would actually make.
    • Tribe, symbol, story and gift are generated from your child's name by the rules of the Kaskina world, so the same name always gets the same result. In the real thing, a writer and an artist would be involved.
    • Nothing is for sale. The $99 is indicative pricing for a concept we're testing. There is no checkout, no payment form, and no way to be charged on this page.
    • The map pins are demonstration data. Your pin exists only in this browser tab.

If this becomes a real product, it will be built with proper parental consent, clear data handling and a privacy policy written for families — before a single photo is collected.

    For Parents

Your child's entertainment should mean you get to relax too.

If you've ever changed a diaper in mid-air, cleaned spaghetti sauce off a pair of sneakers, gone to work with a superhero sticker on your blouse, or pulled a box of crayons out of the dishwasher — you know exactly how much work goes into being a parent.

So when it comes to choosing a cartoon, you shouldn't have to add one more thing to the list by worrying about what's in it.

Hoko Pokos is built to teach kids to make new friends, respect each other's differences, stay active, and get creative — and to make being outdoors look like the best thing in the world. Because in this story, it literally is.

    🤝

    Friendship

Five very different kids who only win when they stop competing with each other.

    🌏

    Difference

Four tribes, four cultures, and a story that treats every one of them as worth knowing.

    🏔

    Getting outside

Skiing, climbing, paddling, racing. The adventure is always physical.

    💡

    Creativity

Nimrod is stronger than they are. They have to out-think him instead.
